To mark Ireland's contribution to the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, the Minister for Arts, Sports and Tourism, Martin Cullen T.D. is hosting a concert and conference in Leuven to discuss and show case intercultural dialogue in Ireland in the arts, culture, audiovisual, sports and tourism sectors.

On Tuesday 4 November, intercultural dialogue through music will be celebrated in a concert headlined by National Ambassador for the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin and featuring Vocalists Afel Boucoum (Mali), Liam Ó Maonlaí (Ireland), Niwel Tsumbu (Congo/Ireland), percussionists Kelly Hamadoun (Mali), Mel Mercier and Éammon Cagney (Ireland) and uileann piper Paddy Keenan. The concert will be held in the Leuven Institute for Ireland and Europe.

The following day, on 5 November, an Intercultural Ireland conference and showcase will take place in the Committee of Regions. The conference will feature speakers from the Arts, Tourism, Film and Televsion and Sport sectors as well as the National Ambassadors for the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue. There will be a "Taste of Intercultural Ireland" buffet lunch and cooking demonstration as well as an audiovisual showcase of various intercultural arts initiatives.
