About Whole Organization Approach Training

Printer Friendly Version

Introduction

The NCCRI provides 'whole organisation approach' training to addressing racism and promoting interculturalism to government bodies and statutory agencies as a priority. The training is a two-day training session and is targeted at key people who have responsibility for policy development and decision-making within their organisations.

It is encouraged that organisations engage in anti-racism and intercultural awareness training before undertaking whole organisation approach training.

Approach

The training sessions are designed to build participants' awareness while helping them to acquire the necessary tools and understanding to implement appropriate strategies to combat racism and promote interculturalism in the workplace. This is achieved through participation, drawing on the knowledge of the group, experiential learning and the provision of accurate & accessible information.

Aim of the training session

The primary aims of the NCCRI whole organisation approach training are:

  • To develop appropriate strategies for working in an increasingly multi-ethnic society
  • To create awareness of the challenges and opportunities for addressing racism and promoting interculturalism within organisations
  • To encourage organisations to adopt policies, good practice and action plans to combat racism and promote interculturalism
